i feel like my blog has become more and more mundane with each passing day. that's probably an accurate reflection of the boredom that exists here in normalville, ohio. i've hit some kind of midwestern america induced writer's block.

because of this realization, i've decided to inform you about an idea that i had when i was 18 years old, that to this day, i'm bitter about because someone got to it before me.

one fall day during my first-year at ol' Miami U, i was walking to class in the rain and a similarly late person on a bike passed me. i noticed that their booty was all wet, because they sat on their bike seat, which obviously was rained on all morning. the result was a dark spot right in the center of their butt, that they'd have to cope with during their 8am class.

i thought, "wow, you know...there should be an invention where you could fashion some kind of springbar underneath a bicycle seat, and as you get on or off your bike, you could pull something like a showercap over the seat and when you didn't need it, you could give it a quick yank and it'd snap back under your seat around the aforementioned springbar." (note to reader: i didn't say aforementioned in my head--i'm just keeping you on your toes).

it's a clever idea, isn't it? FOR MONTHS, i thought about what a great idea this was and how if i actually invented something like it for college campuses, i could atleast be a tens-of-thousands-aire. the excitement mounted, and my tongue got liberal amongst my peers as i began to envision the potential of my mental invention.

but alas, on a bright morning which would quickly turn dreary, i mentioned it to one of my three bosses at the music library. FINALLY, i found someone who was equally excited about the potential of my invention. i mean, as far as i was concerned, this was as good as the invention of the wheel, but no one, outside of Brian, had yet captured the vision. he suggested that we google it to see if any product already existed on the market for such a thing. look for yourself:

Needless to say, my hopes and dreams of being an entrepeneur in the bicycle industry were crushed that dark, dark day in the listening center of the music library.

And that's how i ended up on STINT in Liverpool, England (that's not true, but i think that if that were true, it'd be HILARIOUS).
