It's Only to Be Expected...

::sigh:: a huge part of me doesn't want to tell this story, for fear of the judgment that i probably deserve, but for the sake of humor and complete absurdity, i guess i'll share to give you a little splash of amusement to carry you through your day.

i should probably warn you that this story involves my underwear/knickers/pants/whatever you want to call them, so if you're uncomfortable with that...don't read on.

and so it begins...

the front door to my house has glass windows lining the sides of it. when you first walk in the door, there is a main corridor and a bathroom on the left and if you continue straight a couple more steps, it'll lead you into our informal dining room and kitchen area.

my mom, dad, and sister were all congregated in the kitchen, grazing, and i nipped into the bathroom to expel the 36 ounces of water that i had ingested earlier that day. i had on a pair of underwear, purchased in the UK, that i really loved, but that are very much like a girl version of boxer briefs. sooooo (don't judge me...it wasn't dodgy), i walk out of the bathroom with my jeans around my ankles to show my family how "cool" my underwear was as i'm standing in the main corridor. i had just finished my little runway show and pulled my jeans up around my waist, when less than a half second later, the DOORBELL RINGS. my eyes turn into saucers as i stare at my parents in unbelief. Honestly? WHAT are the odds of the doorbell ringing unexpectedly the only time I'm standing in our main corridor, in clear view from the windows in my underwear, when some STRANGER comes to the door?

i whisper, "i can't go to the door! what if they saw? i cannot go! someone else has to answer it."

my dad's eyes are as large as mine, in what seems to be a disapproving stare and my heart stops for a few seconds as he makes for the door. i hear him:

"yes...okay...yes....TERI (my mom) GRAB $5 TO BUY SOME CANDY FROM THIS KID."

he then whisks back in and i'm standing next to my sister, shuffling my feet, expecting to get a lecture and my dad just laughs and says, "It's a kid selling candy for a program for teens who have been in trouble. THIS KIDS TRYING TO TURN HIS LIFE AROUND AND YOU SHOW HIM THE MOON."

me and my sister bursts out laughing, half in embarassment, half in relief and try to muffle our giggles so the little entrepeneur outside doesn't think we're having a laugh at his expense.

i could argue that this stuff only happens to me, but i now understand that i bring this stuff on myself because i do things like show people my cool underwear.

Lesson learned.

Brittney. Although I've already told you this one to one I feel its only right to put it in the public eye also.

SHOWING YOUR UNDERWEAR TO PEOPLE IS NOT COOL...ITS WEIRD, VERY, VERY WEIRD!

I believe that sentence acurately records my feelings on the matter.

So.. This made me laugh. A lot. This is good. Thankyou for sharing Brit, though I'd agree that showing people your underwear isn't the usual thing to do - especially why you are still wearing them... Adios amigo..

Echoing Daniel 'the Chuckster' Temlett I'd also like to say that the world would be a sorrier place without events like this in your day-to-day life Brit. Once again - thankyou.

Oops.. Didn't mean to remove the first post. Anyway this was the gist...

Impressive readership Brit. Nice. Liverpool is sorely in need of the Britmeister and the rest of team Agape - looking forward to your return.

Oh and I bought Jason Mraz and Amos Lee today - good stuff.

Take care lass - Rich
